The launch of the Wii U is nearly upon us. With a game changing gamepad and an impressive lineup of games finally available in HD, Nintendo seems to have everything in order for a successful Wii U debut. I’m sure many are still on the fence on whether to pick up the new system so join BootHammer as we give you three simple reasons to purchase Nintendo’s Wii U at launch.
1. New is exciting – Regardless of the arguments of whether the hardware within is truly what some would consider next gen it still offers new technology on a brand new platform. It will offer exclusive experiences as all new consoles do. It’s always a blast opening up the box and unwrapping a new console for the first time. The new controllers, graphic capabilities and even the dashboard is something I always look forward to.
2. Games – Whether it’s new IP’s or sequels to your favorite titles, the launch lineup is what really makes gamers invest in a new system. Nintendo has ensured the Wii U has a fantastic lineup of games such as the New Super Mario Brothers U, ZombiU, Assassin’s Creed III and Black Ops II. Nintendo has also confirmed 23 total games for first day adopters so gamers are sure to find a nice variety of titles at launch.
3. The Gamepad – While some may not be sold on it just yet, I can see the controller adding a lot to the gaming experience. Obviously while some games will make less use of its unique features than others, you can bet there are plenty of developers already hard at work making full use of the gamepad’s capabilities. Additionally offering an asymmetric view in certain games is pretty neat stuff and will be quite fun to play around with. And the fact you can play your games directly on the controller is just another nice feature you won’t find elsewhere.
Only one more day and we’ll finally witness Nintendo’s first console to support high-definition graphics and get hands on with the exciting new gamepad. Let us know which games and aspects of this new console you are most excited about!
